Look 10 Years Younger in 5 Simple Steps

When you get to a certain age it feels as though you’d do anything to turn back the clock. You don’t necessarily want to change all of the wonderful things you have now (house, husband, children), but you’d love to look like you did back then. When you’re younger, you take your looks for granted. As you get older, you wish you hadn’t. Turning back the clock may seem like an impossible task, but there are some ways you can achieve it. Here’s how to look 10 years younger in 5 simple steps.

Step 1: Lifestyle changes
This isn’t going to happen overnight! However, changing your lifestyle now can help slow down things in the future. When you hit 50, you’ll wish you’d changed your lifestyle at 30-something. Make sure you’re eating right and getting plenty of exercise. Drink lots of water. Smile lots and spend as much time as you can in the fresh air. These little lifestyle changes will help you look (and feel) younger. They’ll take time, but it will be worth it.

Step 2: Your skincare routine
Next up, we need to take a look at that skincare routine of yours. If you’re still doing the same as you were 10 years ago then it might be time for a change. You skin type is probably different now and there will be better suited products out there for you. Firstly, work out what your skin type is. You can then work out which products are needed to help even out that complexion. Dry skin needs rich moisturiser. Oily skin needs lighter products. Find the right skincare routine and products for you.

Step 3: Anti-aging
Your next step is to work on some anti-aging techniques. There are so many out there that I could write a whole other post on them. However, some of the most common include:
  • Lotions and potions - There are dozens of anti-aging creams on the market. Find which one fits in with your skincare routine, your age group and your lifestyle and get testing. I absolutely suggest asking for a tester. .
  • Non-surgical procedures - Things such as dermal fillers are great for those who want a quick fix. And it means no surgery, as well!
  • Surgical procedures - If you’ve got the guts (and money) to go under the knife then that’s an option.

Step 4: Your hair
Did you know that your hairstyle can make you look older? Your hair can make you look like you’re trying too hard to look young… Also known as mutton dressed as lamb. Or, you may just have a hairstyle that’s unflattering and adding on the years. Find a good hair stylist and ask them for a refresh. It may only be a little change, but it can knock years off. Something as simple as lightening or darkening your shade, adding layers or a fringe can update your look and freshen you up.

Step 5: Your clothes
Just like your hair, your clothes could be making you look older too. Are you dressing for your age? If you’re trying to fit in with the younger crowds, then it could be making you age quicker. The wrong clothes can make you look and feel older than you are. Make sure you’re dressing for your body shape and your age. It’s much more flattering!

These five steps can easily knock 10 years off of you. And when you start to look younger, you’ll begin to feel younger. Maybe we can turn back that clock after all!
