Hectic Week as a Mother? Here's How to Make it Less Stressful

As a mother it’s an absolute that you’re going to have some hectic weeks. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do, it’s chaos. There are loads of things that need to be done in your work and home life, and there never seems to be a lot of time to get any of it done. It also seems to be more and more difficult to keep yourself looking nice. That’s why you need to take steps to try to help yourself make the week less stressful.

You are effectively doing two jobs - working, and looking after the kids. And this is bound to take its toll on anyone. When it comes to your week of chaos, you need to make sure you have all your bases covered. If you can make it less stressful, you’re likely to get more done, and you can do it to a better standard. So, have a look at these suggestions that will help you make it less of a hectic week.
Prioritize
Whenever there are a lot of different tasks or errands to do the best approach is to prioritize them. This means you have to do what you can to sort them into some kind of order. The best thing to do is to make sure that the most important tasks get sorted out first. This is the best way to prevent yourself from becoming overwhelmed by everything that needs to be done. Sit down and write a list of all the things that need to be done. That is the best way to figure out what things are the most important.
Can You Push Anything into Next Week?
While you are compiling this list and prioritising, you need to look at whether anything can be put on hold. That means you need to take a look at any tasks you might be able to push back to next week. You won’t always be able to do this as some of the stuff might be quite urgent. However, if you can move stuff then you should consider doing so. It will make the week a little less busy and chaotic, and you’ll find things a bit easier.

Get the Kids Looked After
Sometimes you’re going to have a lot to do, and you’ll need to move around a lot. But, that means you need to sort the kids out. You can’t always cart them around with you, and you may not be in a position to leave the at home. So the best thing to do would be to drop them at one of the Mission Australia Early Learning Centres local to you. That way you will make sure the kids are in a safe and healthy environment while you get all the things done that you need to do.
So, as you can see, there is plenty you can do to help you have a smooth week. A lot of the time you just need to take a deep breath, step back and assess the situation. Try to implement some of these ideas into your week as they will help you get more done. Removing stress and trauma is one of the key principles to successful, burden-free motherhood!
